The Alien Stole My Dog is a book about a boy called Dave who finds a CD in the playground. He plays it on his computer. At first he thinks it’s a fun game but soon he finds out things are happening in the real world and he nearly shoots his own dad.
My favourite part of the book is when the flower starts speaking to Dave and tells him he is about to be taken on board a spaceship.
If you like aliens you will love this book.
I asked my teacher if I could take the book home to read unfortunately she said no, so I had to wait a whole week to find out what happened.

Aquila is a story about two boys who fall down a hole into a cave whilst on a school trip. They find a dead man and machine called Aquila. The machine has flashing lights and two seats. The story is about how the two boys learn to fly Aquila and the scrapes they get into.
I think Aquila is a good story because it is full of cliff hangers. The writer creates tension by switching from the two boys to their teachers at exciting points in the story.
It was fun to read. I would like to have found Aquila.

The title of the book I am reviewing is Game Boy. The author is Alan Durant. The genre of the book is science fiction. Reading the blurb made me think that the book would be exciting. Before I read the book I expected it to be about gaming.
The plot is about a boy called JP who buys a computer game from a junk shop. Some unusual things happen; JP gets sucked into the game and he has to fight some real monsters in order to survive.
I would describe JP as a computer nerd, who played on his game boy all the time. I can identify with JP because I go on the computer a lot.
The descriptions are very real and exciting. The game takes him to a desert, a swamp, a jungle, a cave guarded by a giant ant with razor sharp teeth and finally to a giant game of snakes and ladders.
Feelings and attitudes are important in this story because it makes you want to read more of the book. In each level JP was in a different place. He became more and more frightened as he went through the game meeting a giant two headed snake, and a crocodile which looked like a log when it was in the water. JP began to think that it was not a game but real life; he was right.
I think the author wrote this book to tell kids not to judge things by their cover and not to play too many computer games and to read books instead.
The best things about the book were the realistic scenes.

The title of the book I am reading is Diary of a Wimpy Kid the Last Straw
The author is Geoff Kinney. The genre of the book is comedy. Reading the blurb made me think that it was going to be funny and make me want to keep on reading.
The main character is a little boy who isn't particularly popular and tries getting himself out of everything. The people at school bully and annoy him.
The story covers a number of events in the boy’s life. His dad makes him sign up to a football club and he gets put in goal but he just sits on the grass playing with the daffodils. There's a girl that he fancies and he tries to impress her but he can't get the hang of it.
The author makes me laugh by painting a picture in my head of situations that would never happen because they are so unusual.
This book made me feel happy because it was very funny and I laughed a lot. The most annoying thing about the book is that you have to read the next one to find out what happens.
